Welcome to Alcove!

Welcome to our blog! Here we plan to share with you what’s going on at Alcove Child and Youth Resources as well as any other material that we think may help you in your work with children and young people.

As you will see from the rest of our site, our goal is to help children and youth develop intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually by providing digital resources to the people who work and live with them. We have many years of experience or working with children and youth. We know what it’s like to wrack our minds for creative ideas that will get our students and clients interested in the material. We know how important experiential learning is for kids today and how difficult it is to come up with exciting activities in limited prep time. And we know how hard it can be to find outside resources that enable us to cover our subject matter but also make the learning process fun for kids.

We believe our resources will help in all of these areas. We aim to provide games and activities that you can easily adapt to your classroom, your counselling room, your church, your home, wherever you work with kids. These resources will grab kids’ attention and will be fun for them to use, so that you are able to engage them with the material they are learning.

If you haven’t already read about our current project Mind-N-Mettle, an easy-to-use, fully customizable quiz-show-style game, you can do so by visiting our home page. Here you will find our promotional video and instructions on pre-ordering this game on kickstarter.com. You can also follow us to hear about more exciting resources by providing us with your email address. As a thank-you for following us, you will receive the pilot PowerPoint version of Mind-N-Mettle for free. You can test out the game with your group and see what a great addition it will be to your work.

We hope you will check out the rest of our site and follow us as we set out on this journey to improve the lives of the kids and young people you work with.
